In Spain, on the occasion of my doctorate, we established relations with the Spanish Public Prosecution Service, initially with Prosecutor Antônio Vercher Nogueira (Supreme Court) and also with Prosecutor Carlos Jiménez Villarejo (Anti-Corruption Prosecutor). Thus, in 2000, I was invited to take part in Eurojust, in Santander, as the only foreigner. At the time, they were building the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
