Anti-corruption law requires integrated State action to avoid legal uncertainty, says Medina Osório

Interview on the need for integrated State action in applying the Anti-Corruption Law, TV Migalhas, 2018.

Interview text

Translated from the original.

In an interview with TV Migalhas, lawyer Fábio Medina Osório, executive president of the IIEDE , discusses the anti-corruption law (12,846/13). The jurist observes that the law complements other normative frameworks and is part of the punitive microsystem for combating corruption, money laundering and other offenses, and that it is still too early to draw up a balance sheet, since all municipalities and federative States have to regulate the rule.

For Medina Osório, the fight against corruption requires coordination and integrated action by state bodies, on pain of causing legal uncertainty for the administered and for those subject to jurisdiction. This, then, is the great challenge: to seek coherence in state action in confronting wrongdoing.
